I Met Jane. She's Lovely and So Are You.

A Janet? Yes. A Jan and a Janice all in one, but never a Jane. I cannot recollect ever meeting a Jane until this last week.

Two friends at lunch together, like most days. Its a standing invitation, on week days, which is rarely skipped, except for the occasional illness or vacation day. Friday, eating at one of the town's treasures, Rabbits Bakery the two friends sat waiting for their food. Some days there are long periods of silence, but most often the talker talks and the listener listens, during this lunch hour away from work.

As the two peas so naturally settle in their pod, appearing as if nothing could snap through, Jane sits next to them, lovely and radiating of herself, so bright and inviting. The talker recognized her, but at first could not recall. "She's really good at conversation", thinks the listener, always feeling a bit insecure with her shyness. "Oh yes we golfed together." The talker remembers what a nice time it was to be pared with the couple.

As the three women converse, Jane explains how she had just been to school for grandparents day. Her daughter didn't know she was coming and that she would be in a disguise of sorts. You see the young girls grandparents lived 6 hours away and could not be there, so Jane came to school as her daughter's grandfather, old man mask and all. The listener thought that was such a thoughtful and fun thing to do. It radiated love and fun all at the same time. Her daughter may have been a bit embarrassed (maybe not), but what will imprint on her daughter's heart and mind is her mother's love, to be appreciate as the years go by.

Jane's food was ready and she was taking it to go, so the three peas became two once more. Its good to be peas in our pods as long as they have zippers and elastic. There is room for everyone. Besides there are so many lovely Janes to meet and many who need to meet you as well. We can be mothers and grandmothers to many. It is our legacy to leave to one huge family.
